herding cats in my mind

When I was asked to participate in Gristle Art Gallery's fourth rendition of Cult of Meow show in 2020, I considered the characteristics we attribute specifically to cats. Given the nature of my own work relating to inner thoughts, anxieties, and the human relationship to the self and each other, I decided to manifest the intangible as cats. Housecats are notorious for showing up where you don't want them to, acting however they please, and uninhibited by personal space, much like the uncontrollable thoughts we have every day. Though if given the option, I would choose a herd of cats over anxiety any time.
